Kumbaya ,oh Lord, Kumbaya..”

Published by Tess Rupprecht at 10:08 pm under Missionary Report

Dear amazing people,

“God will make a way where there seems to be no way. He works in ways we cannot see. He will make a way for you and me. He will be our guide. Holding us closely to His side. He will make a way.
By the road ways in the wilderness He leads me. Even in the darkness will I see. Heaven and earth will fade. But His words will still remain. He will do something new today…because God will make a way…” - cd music lyrics by CARMEN

Well surely God is faithful and mighty. He gives us strength even in our weakness moments. He is our voice when we can’t speak. He is our eyes when we can’t see. He gave us faith to believe. Above all these, He loves us no matter what.

Yesterday I received some good news from my husband Steven Kostamo in Zimbabwe Africa. He is as usual busy like a bee. Last week I sent you guys his newsletter and it was a sad and bad lifestyle kind of a situation over there in Zim. And the things Steve is going thru concerning his food hunting for himself daily, and materials and tool hunting for the project was at the verge of “hopeless” . But God made a way where there seem to be no way. For the past week that Steve did not have enough food resources that he was only eating bread, and jam, and mangoes from the mango trees daily-not enough nutrients to give energy to your body and to get by each day ;and for tool supplies there was hardly any in the hardware store but just 3 shovels available. But this week was a miracle! God rained down some manna from heaven. Steve found a butchery and bought some meat. Finally, some protein ! So he cooked some meal for himself. He fried some ground meat in onions and boiled potatoes that was almost as big as a pineapple. And this is what he said with great satisfaction, “Boy was it good to eat. Now I am stuffed and feeling drowsy. Even though the water is off I am satisfied. I will still have to find some water to wash my feet and soak the pots tonight before I go to bed.”
Yes, there’s no water most of the time coming from the tap. And sometimes no electricity either. He is in a “Survivor” for real!

So Steve went shopping to his favourite shopping centre the Mbare open market. He got all of the stuff that the hardware stores are overpricing in two hours there than he did all of last week running around and for good prices.

He also had fun with his first poisonous snake in a few years. After it was dead he put it in the front of the office building and scared a few people and everyone had a few laughs. Yup, just like old times as i have remembered he did that before. And he is doing it again for fun. It was about a meter long. Steve told me that he will show me the video when he gets back home. Well, that’s my husband for you guys! You know him…he is hooked to all kinds of adventure..!

Well this is just a brief update of what is going on out there in the mission field. We’ll update you more next…

We really appreciate those amazing people who are praying for and with us for this mission in Zimbabwe and for our family…especially thanks for praying for Steve who went in the front line to help support this task in action.

Please continually pray for Steve, and for his VISA as it has not found yet from the immigration office.
… and pray for our brothers and sisters in Zimbabwe as the nation is in a desperate need of S.O.S (help).

God bless each one!
Shalom,
Grace and kids for Steven Kostamo-
