Junior High Eston Retreat by Tintin Cousart
As some of you might know my brother, Kyle, and I went to Eston, Saskatchewan for a youth retreat on April 25th to 27th, 2008. If you don’t know what a Junior High retreat is, it is a gathering of different youth groups all aged between 12-14 and they do sermons and worship the Lord. I had a very good time there and made good friends with other people and also made a closer relationship with God. I thought that the most exciting part of the trip was trying to get a chance whenever there was free time to play the game Dutch Blitz, even if the game isn’t really connected to the Lord. The services were really long and pretty unexciting, but in the end I think focusing on what the speaker was saying through the entire two and a half hour service really helped through the weekend and probably will help me face all the tough decisions in life.
If you were wondering what we talked about in the services here is a quick summary. The first night we came we learned that everyone had a compass to lead them to what is right and what is wrong, and that it is impossible to try to align are compass by ourselves and that you need the help of God. On the second and last night we learned about a 10-year-old boy named Jaako, who had a vision about going to Malawi and giving people food and money. It amazed me of how God can work through such young person. On the last day we had a wrap up of what we all learned, but I can’t quite remember what it was about. I had such a great time there and I had experiences that I will never forget.

Dear Tintin,
We salute you and Kyle. These days when teens are out having a different kind of fun, you are out there worshipping, listening to, and obeying your Saviour and Lord. Go ahead, be different and hold your head up high for choosing Jesus!!
