Faith Baptist Mission began existing on May 24, 2005 when a group of volunteer workers from Faith Baptist Church led by Ptr. Dan Iporac trooped to Legazpi City, Philippines on the night of May 23 with one goal in mind: to bring the gospel of salvation to the Bicolanos. House to house evangelism and gospel saturation started in the afternoon of the same day. Tracts distribution was also done in malls, market stalls and in places where people crowd. Indeed, the power of the Holy Spirit worked in the hearts of those who personally came to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. This continued until Friday, May 27. Then, on the Saturday, a free Medical-Dental Mission was held. Finally, our first Worship Service on the 29th with an attendance of 31 in the morning and 29 in the evening. TO GOD BE THE GLORY FOR THIS RESULT!

From then on, Faith Baptist Mission kept breathing. Homes were opened for Bible Study. The work here in Legazpi is tougher than we thought. However, with God on our side, we kept going.

Finally, after a year of toil and labor, nine souls surrendered for water baptism on June 18, 2006, just a week before our 1st Mission Anniversary celebration. PRAISE THE LORD! Indeed, if we do not grow weary in well doing, in due season we shall reap if we faint not. (Galatians 6:9)

Then the story of Faith Baptist Mission continued.

The following month, another nine souls surrendered for water baptism. AMEN AND AMEN!

Faith Family kept doing the work entrusted despite the devastating typhoon Reming which left many Bicolanos homeless and hopeless. Nevertheless, the work moved on. With the prayers, moral, material and financial support from the brethren all over the land, we were encouraged again to do what the Father has told us to do. After two months of continuous toil, another five souls followed in water baptism in February of 2007. Yes, with these fruits, the more we got excited in doing God’s work as we await on the many wonders the Lord will be doing. GOD IS GOOD, INDEED!

The super typhoon harshly affected the transportation accessibility because bridges and railways were swept away by the mudflow. Even then, the Lord showed us of ways to reach more souls to Christ. This then gave birth to two new outreaches in Daraga and Guinobatan, Albay in September 2007. It was hard for us to go in the first place, because we have to walk on a footbridge to be able to bring the gospel to the people in Alcala, Daraga which is 8 kilometers away from Legazpi City. But this did not hinder us from doing so. Yes, everything is POSSIBLE WITH GOD! Despite the distance of the Guinobatan Outreach, which is 25 kms. away from Legazpi, we still went there after our afternoon service. Young and old alike heard the message of salvation leading 20 souls to Christ. Truly, there is no salvation in any other name but in Jesus Christ alone. After 3 months of Bible Study, 6 souls got baptized from the Guinobatan Outreach. Your prayers and financial support are working in the lives of these precious souls. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

Faith Baptist Mission is not only concerned with the spiritual need of the people but also of their physical need. That is why we are having Health Care and Feeding Program by distributing Food Supplement called Reliv, which is being purchased at a minimal price but are given to them free. Free lunch is also served every Sunday afternoon so that believers will all stay for the afternoon service at 1:30PM. These are all financed by faith. God promises, He provides! We owe all these to our Almighty God, for without Him we can do nothing. And to you who have been our faithful partners through the years, THANKS FOR HOLDING THE ROPE FOR US!

Note : Pastor Dan is a Rizal High School batchmate of Ellen and Tess. Legazpi City, Albay is home to the world’s popular Mt. Mayon Volcano. It must be one of the most beautiful volcanic cones in the world. It can be seen for miles around in the surrounding flat landscape of the region. The volcano is very much active and has erupted several times in 2000, 2001 and 2006. Below are some pictures of this beautiful place where Pastor Dan is harvesting souls!

    Dear Sis. Tess,

    Greetings!

Thanks for taking time to read our email and for responding so quick. We truly share the same sentiment about God’s work. I am trying to reach out to our batchmates thru the devotions I am sending them with a prayer that the Lord would touch their hearts and that they may find the Savior we have found.

I am attaching some pix to these email including our family pix.

My wife is Aisa, my boys are Danskie (14), Dondie (11), Dobu (7), & Dudut (4).

May we be partners in prayer for our batchmates and for the propagation of the gospel in all the world.

Thank you very much! God bless you real good. Please extend my regards to your family.

    For the lost,

    PASTOR DAN

    Hi pastor Dan,

I am so proud of you not only because we are batchmates, but because you are my new found friend.
May our LORD GOD continue to Bless you , your family, and your whole community in Legaspi Albay.

With God nothing is impossible and you’ve proven that so many
times. Sana rin matuloy at matupad yung plano natin nina doris na kami naman ang makadalaw sa iyo. And as promised we will personally deliver boxes and boxes of……instant noodles. ( joke ).

    God Bless,
    mayvel
