Dale Basco led the Bible study on Sunday, September 28th. He shared his thoughts on what the Bible says on giving our tithes and offerings. He cited verses from the Old and New Testament where God speaks to His people on this very important subject of the Christian faith. The bedrock of giving our tithes and offerings is found in Malachi 3 verses 8-11.
8 “Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me.
”But you ask, ‘How do we rob you?’
”In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse—the whole nation of you—because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. 11 I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not cast their fruit,” says the LORD Almighty.
There was a lively discussion that ensued and sharing of personal experiences as well as. There was a challenge to “test” the Lord our God on His promise that if we are faithful in giving, He will give it back to us a hundred-fold. We hope to get Dale’s study notes and will publish this in our website.
