Latest Update : September 29, 2009
To our faithful & beloved website Friends & Visitors,
Last September 26, 2009, the Philippines was devastated by Typhoon Ondoy (also referred to as Typhoon Ketsana). The storm brought a month’s rain in six hours that killed at least 250 people with more people missing. A total of 1,939,729 persons or 334,959 families have been affected by the flooding, according to the NDCC ( National Disaster Coordinating Council ). Total damage has now reached P4.6 Billion.
In response to this emergency, the Filipino Bible Study Group of the Calgary Full Gospel Church would like to request for your help.
If you are able, you can do any of the following :
- Call RED CROSS 1-800-418-1111 Canada, 1-800-435-7669 USA or the Red Cross in your country.
- Donate through the website of WorldVision
To our Bible Study Group friends, please contact Wally or Ellen if you are able to help in any way.
More than anything else, we would like to request your fervent prayers for :
- Continued improvement in the weather
- Quicker rescue operations in those areas where people are stranded
- Reunification of families who were separated
- Provision for basic necessities like food, clothing
- Safety and strength for those who are doing volunteer work including the medical staff
- Government officials to use every means to assist those who truly needed help
Thanks a lot for your generosity.
May the good Lord bless us all! May His love, joy and mercy abound in us even in challenging times like this.
