Warm greetings dear brothers and sisters in Christ!

As we mark the end of a decade (or welcome the beginning of a new one), we welcome 2010 with thanksgiving in our hearts for the many great things that our Lord did in our lives! I am sure we can think of so many things to thank God for - good health, a roof over our head, being surrounded by family and friends, money in our pockets/wallets/bank, surviving the recession, and many, many more! Indeed, great is THY FAITHFULNESS OH LORD!! What are you thankful to God for?

We hope that the holiday season has been a time to rejuvenate our mind, body and spirits and we are now ready to face new and greater challenges in our lives.  Many have been asking when we will resume our Bible Studies, the good news is we will start on Sunday, February 21st. These meetings have been a huge part of our lives that something seems to be missing if we don’t meet or if we take a long break,  just like we did for over Christmas & New Year.

We look forward to another exciting year for our Bible Study! We have lined up men and women of God who will be sharing with us valuable lessons and insights from the Bible.  Something new and different that we will be “testing” this year is to create a sub-group for our youths (junior high, senior high, college, 20 plus). Surprisingly, we probably haven’t noticed but there’s quite a number of them. It is our desire to bring them together for Bible Studies and create age-appropriate activities so they, too will gain a greater understanding of God’s word and a deeper love for Jesus. After all, they are the leaders of tomorrow, and we want to equip them to shine their light to the world!

We intend to do a teambuilding activity in the summer. This will be a whole day event for everyone and we will line up exciting things to do! This will be at the church to enable every to come. At the end of the day, we hope our spirits will be refreshed and invigorated to serve God in a truly meaningful way.

If resources become available to us and if God blesses our plan, we want to do a day trip (or outing, as we all know it! ^ ^) outside Calgary in the summer as well!

And believe it or not, we also have planned for our Christmas fellowship. This will be a Christmas lunch/potluck on December 12th. This will be at the church right after the second service, so that more people can come.

If you have suggestions and ideas, please do not hesitate to talk to Wally or myself.

We pray that God will use the time we spend together not only to nourish our souls, but more importantly that we can be better ambassadors for Christ to the people around us.  Let us continue in prayer, in fellowship, in reading the Bible, in sharing the Gospel with the lost, in giving, and serving God until He comes! Let us not be weary in well doing, we will reap if we faint not! ( paraphrased, Galatians 6:9)
